KrellTech was proud to attend the ribbon cutting for Sussex County Community College’s new Optics Technology Center, an important milestone for photonics education and workforce development in New Jersey.

Representing KrellTech at the event was Tyler Simays, Director of Marketing and Business Development, who joined fellow leaders from education and industry in recognizing the significance of the new center and the opportunities it can help create for students entering the optics and photonics field.

The new Optics Technology Center reflects the growing momentum behind photonics in New Jersey and the increasing need to build stronger connections between education and industry. As photonics continues to play a critical role across telecommunications, aerospace, defense, medical technology, advanced manufacturing, and semiconductor applications, investments in workforce development are becoming more important than ever.

KrellTech was glad to be present in support of this exciting milestone and to see fellow members of the regional photonics community come together around optics, education, and the future of the photonics workforce.

“It was great to see Sussex County Community College unveil its new Optics Technology Center and to be there alongside others who are helping move the industry forward,” said Tyler Simays, Director of Marketing and Business Development at KrellTech. “Facilities like this can play an important role in helping students gain exposure to photonics and better understand the real opportunities that exist within this growing field.”

KrellTech was also encouraged to see the continued support of organizations helping strengthen the regional photonics ecosystem, including PhotonicsNJ and the broader Advancing Photonics Technologies community. Their support for industry awareness, education, and collaboration continues to help build momentum for photonics throughout the region.

At KrellTech, we understand that advancing the photonics industry is not only about developing precision equipment and process solutions, but also about supporting the people, programs, and partnerships that will shape the future of the field. Educational initiatives like Sussex County Community College’s new center help create valuable pathways for students while reinforcing the long-term importance of optics and photonics to innovation and economic growth.

We congratulate Sussex County Community College on this achievement and look forward to seeing the impact the new Optics Technology Center will have on students, educators, and the broader photonics community.
