Bare Fiber Adapter
Fiber Adapters are used to temporarily hold bare fibers during the polishing process. Once processed, the polished bare fiber can be removed.
A Fiber Adapter consists of a brass stem (FAST-01) and a ferrule tip. The inner diameter of the ferrule is fabricated to accept the outer cladding diameter of the fiber. The ferrule tip material is either ceramic, metal, glass or polymer for 80um and 125um fibers, and metal or polymer for diameters >125um. Most ferrule tips are angled for forming angled facets on fiber tips.
Fiber Adapters are interchangeable with the spring loaded Adapter Coupler for securing the fiber.
