Introducing KrellTech's NOVA™ Workholder for Photonic Manufacturing — Designed for Precision Polishing and Shaping of Waveguides, Fiber Arrays, and Optical Chips
The NOVA™ Workholder is a highly versatile solution tailored for processing photonic components. Our standard workholder accommodates polished edge widths from approximately 3mm to 25mm, with an extended length model supporting up to 50mm. Both configurations allow for angle adjustments between 0° and 45° and thicknesses from ~0.5mm to greater than 5mm, offering the precision and flexibility critical for intricate photonic structures, whether in chip fabrication or fiber array polishing.
Our workholder is available in single-position variable angle (manual or automated), four-position variable angle (manual), and eight-position fixed angle options, making it adaptable for various production requirements. For specialized photonic integrated circuit (PIC) processing, we offer PIC and waveguide carriers that provide ergonomic, repeatable mounting, essential for the consistent polishing and edge preparation of narrow photonic chips. Once prepared off-line, these carriers integrate seamlessly into our NV-FLEX and NV-FLEX-A fixtures for optimal polishing results.
By ensuring high-quality finishes and precision shaping, KrellTech's NOVA™ Workholder enhances photonic component manufacturing processes, serving as a critical tool for industry leaders in optical component production.
