Fiber Array Unit (FAU) Polishing Workflow on NOVA: Loading, Programming, Processing, and Inspection

See how KrellTech’s NOVA™ system supports Fiber Array Unit, or FAU, polishing through a complete loading, processing, and inspection workflow. In this video, we demonstrate how an FAU is loaded into a carrier, how the carrier is placed into the NOVA workholder, and how the system is programmed for controlled photonic component processing. The video also shows how operators can measure and track material removal, switch polishing films and discs during the process, clean components with SkyBrite™ wipes, and inspect the final polishing results. This workflow highlights how KrellTech systems help operators manage important steps in fiber array polishing, including fixturing, process control, polishing film selection, material removal tracking, cleaning, and inspection. These capabilities are especially useful for photonic component processing, fiber array preparation, R&D, process development, and production environments where repeatability and careful handling are important. KrellTech designs and manufactures polishing, shaping, and inspection systems for photonic components, including fiber arrays, waveguides, PICs, bare fibers, fiber optic connectors, and other precision optical components.
